Christmas 2022 at St John’s

At St John’s, the last two weeks of term in December are always packed with festive events, performances and activities, involving as many students as possible.

Christmas on the Hill on Thursday 8th December was a fabulous evening of festive fun that had the audience clapping, laughing, singing and dancing in the aisles. Thank you to everyone who supported the show. The show was produced and directed by our Drama faculty, and included a wide range of student performances, as well as a surprise
appearance from a group of St john’s Teachers, who demonstrated their remarkable skills in synchronised swimming! Photos by Harry Phillips, Year 12

Our end of term Carol Service at our parish church, St Mary’s Marlborough, on Thursday 15th December also showcased our talented students, to a packed church.

Some of our students who benefit from one-to-one support from our SEND team demonstrated their creative talents, designing and making stunning Christmas wreaths in their Learning Support lessons with Ms Keuser during the last
week of term.

Students, school families  and staff showed their generosity and kindness, creating gift boxes and bags packed with Christmas gifts for adults and children who have been affected by domestic violence. Representatives from HVDV: Helping Victims of Domestic Violence, a local registered charity #1161380 collected a vanload of packages from St John’s and distributed the gifts during December.

Year 12 students Harry & Ellie gave a festive performance to a Year 7 tutor group in preparation for their A Level Music performance coursework. The Year 7 students were truly inspired to hear these fantastic performances and said they were hugely grateful for the time and effort that had been taken to prepare the performance.
