Students show huge support for local charity

St John’s students and staff have been creating gift boxes, packed with presents for adults and children who have been affected by domestic violence.

Today, representatives from HVDV – Helping Victims of Domestic Violence, registered charity #1161380 collected the packages from St John’s and will distribute the gifts in December.

Head of Year 7, Mrs Hawkins said:

“HVDV told us that donations to the charity are an all time low this year, due to lockdown, and we are therefore extremely proud of St John’s students, who have donated more this year than ever before”.

Students were shown a video about the work of the charity in virtual assemblies earlier this month, and were inspired to help. More information about HVDV
