Wellbeing Term 2 UpdateKaren Reed
It’s been a busy and worthwhile term in Health & Wellbeing education. Students have covered physical health, mental health and emotional wellbeing, recognising that physical health and mental health are interlinked and that good physical health contributes to good mental health.
‘1 in 10 young people will experience a mental health problem this year. So if your mate is acting differently, reach out!’ – Time to Change
This term, Year 7 reflected on the importance of sleep, healthy eating and physical exercise. It was great to see so many students share their healthy coping strategies to help keep themselves and others safe.
Year 8 have been sensitive learners about anxiety and depression, managing loss and bereavement and have considered strategies to help get them through the low parts of a day.
Finally, well done to Year 9 students Tabitha Jones and Alexa Edmondson for their helpful posters, giving tips to our Year 7 students on “How to ask for help”.
It’s fantastic seeing our students taking a lead.
