Winners Announced – Royal Academy of Art: Artists’ Summer Show

Year 7: Pastel Fish Inspired by Vincent Scarpiece

Year 8: Asofo Flags and Aboriginal Art

Mrs Coupland’s Year 8 class have been designing and creating Asafo flags, using watercolour, collage and stitching. Students really considered the symbolism behind their flags with some exciting and original work.  Whilst Mrs Tin’s Year 8’s have been studying a number of different cultures around the world to inspire their pieces this term. The students used watercolour, pen, pencil and acrylic paint to create these Australian Aboriginal designs and were encouraged to think about the symbolic patterns and marks in their pieces.

Year 9: Words Project

Year 9’s project is ‘Words’ and Mrs Tin’s class had a sub-theme of music and lyrics. Her group created these lovely observational drawings of some of their favourite musicians and then many have begun to add lyrics to them in the background.  How many musicians can you spot?
