Private LAMDA teachers provide individual Drama tuition at St John’s. Tuition fees for lessons are not set by St John’s and are paid directly to the individual teacher according to their usual rates.
Lessons are given during school hours (making maximum use of breaks and lunchtime) and are organised on a rota basis so that students do not miss the same lesson each week. Sixth Form students may be able to use their study periods. Students are responsible for catching up with work missed.
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts is a prestigious drama school and an awarding body for performing arts qualifications and examinations. LAMDA is renowned worldwide for its high standards in drama, acting, and communication education.
LAMDA tuition is an excellent extracurricular activity for any student with an interest in the performing arts. It’s comprehensive training allows students to learn the skills of acting, public speaking and storytelling; whilst helping develop confidence in their abilities, transferring on and off the stage. This year we are offering tuition in Acting Grades 1-8. From Grades 6 onwards, students are also able to claim UCAS points for each qualification.
LAMDA lessons are currently taught through Centre Stage Drama, by Grace Dodson who is a fully qualified LAMDA teacher, having achieved Grade 8 with Distinction.
