St John’s Christmas support for domestic violence charities

The generosity of St John’s students, their parents, and staff at the school is clear to see. A huge pile of gift boxes and bags packed with presents for adults and children affected by domestic violence, all collected and put together by students and staff, has been handed over to representatives from HVDV – Helping Victims of Domestic Violence, registered charity #1161380.

Head of Year 7, Mrs Hawkins said “HVDV tell us how incredibly grateful they are to St John’s families for their generosity, at a time when so many are struggling financially. The gifts we have donated will make a huge difference to families affected by  domestic violence”. More information about HVDV registered charity: https://www.hvdv.org.uk/

At the same time, a group of Year 11 girls at St John’s have been leading an initiative to collect clothing, sanitary produces and toiletries for women being supported by another domestic abuse charity, SWA– Swindon Domestic Abuse registered charity #1175148.  More about the charity here: https://swadomesticabuse.org/
