Using the menu, you can virtually visit many areas within St John’s. We recommend you start by viewing our aerial tour, to see St John’s in its impressive landscape, then head to our atrium, which leads to other areas of the school. As you walk into St John’s through the main doors you enter our stunning Atrium, the heart of St John’s, where students gather to socialise and eat. From here, you have a clear view of our award-winning Atrium Library, and can access the sports hall and our impressive theatre. We use our Atrium for art and design shows and other events throughout the year.

Our sixth form areas include a common room with café and our sixth form quiet library off a dedicated corridor on the top floor of the Atrium building, and also a separate sixth form block across from the main entrance with classrooms and a study centre.

St John’s serves over 250 square miles of North East Wiltshire, and many students travel to St John’s on school buses that drop off and pick up in the main car park. Students walking into school will come in from the Orchard Road entrance. For more information about school transport visit our Transport webpage.
Sixth formers may choose to drive themselves to school, once they are able, and St John’s provides a limited number of parking spaces available to those students. Before you drive yourself to school, you’ll need to apply for parking permission.

Theatre on the Hill
We are proud of our well-equipped 350-seat Theatre, which is used throughout the year for assemblies, staff meetings, concerts and drama productions, exhibitions, exams, and PE. The room has comfortable retractable seating, making the space extremely flexible. A variety of professional lighting and sound equipment is available for productions and concerts.
Library
Our Atrium library is available for all our students to use before, during and after school. In addition to extensive book collections, the library has a range of comfortable seating, work tables, and computer stations providing a quiet place for students to read or work. The library carries newspapers, magazines, journals and DVDs, while revision guides and stationery are also available to buy. Our friendly library staff are available at all times to help students with their research or to find a new book to enjoy.
The Sixth Form silent library offers a quiet work space for students to study, read, use a computer or recharge laptops at the docking stations. Library staff are available to answer queries, issue books and maintain a calm and appropriate atmosphere.
Sport and Dance
St John’s has an exciting range of sports facilities including two large sports halls (including a climbing wall), a dance studio, a fitness suite, two large sports fields, tennis courts and new outdoor basketball / netball courts. We hope to have an all-weather pitch installed soon.

Classrooms
Our architects designed St John’s to allow the beautiful countryside around Marlborough to be visible as much as possible, and also created inspiring views within the school. Classrooms are designated by subject and our students move from room to room between lessons. Take a look around some of our subject classrooms.
As you walk into St John’s through the main doors you enter our stunning Atrium, the heart of St John’s, where students gather to socialise and eat. Food is available for purchase by all students at our main Atrium restaurant and also at the new outdoor “pod”. The Sixth Form has its own café in the Sixth Form Common Room.
We use a biometric system which enables parents to easily add funds to student accounts, and to keep track of what students are purchasing.
Outdoor Spaces
In the same way that our classrooms were designed to maximise light, and benefit from the beautiful views, the outdoor spaces were also carefully designed to enhance our students’ experience. In addition to being popular social spaces for students to meet and eat, our outside areas are regularly used for teaching, sport, and drama productions.
