Y8/9 Girls’ Football Team Christen New 3G Pitch with Impressive 10-2 Victory

St John’s Y8/9 girls’ football team had the privilege of being the first to play a competitive game on our new 3G all-weather pitch, securing an impressive 10-2 victory against Devizes School. Funded by The Lionesses Futures Fund, the pitch is already proving to be a hugely popular and valuable asset for both the school and local community.

St John’s dominated from the outset, controlling possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match. The team’s excellent passing and high pressing forced Devizes to chase the ball for long periods, allowing St John’s to build momentum and create a steady flow of chances.

The new 3G pitch provided a fast and true surface, which St John’s used to their advantage, creating numerous one-on-one opportunities. The team delivered a well-rounded performance with strong links between midfield and attack, frequently turning defence into rapid counter-attacks.

Ella Brown led the scoring with a prolific performance as top scorer for the match. Well done, Ella!

Final Score: St John’s 10 – 2 Devizes

Congratulations to the team on their excellent teamwork and fabulous performance.
