Work Shadowing involves observing a professional in their job to gain a better understanding of the role. Year 12 students use this opportunity to get a taste for a particular job or organisation, but also to ask broad questions about the industry, different career stories and ways to progress, think beyond your placement. The purpose of shadowing is to achieve an insight rather than to gain hands-on, practical experience.
Information can be found in the Work Shadowing Guides below.
Futures week is an opportunity for students to start thinking about their next steps. This event hosts a wide range of opportunities for students including personal statement and CV writing and visits from universities and employers. It includes two days of work shadowing, either face to face or virtual, to enable students to explore work based opportunities linked to their interests, options and aspirations.
