Key Stage 5 Programme

There is a separate careers programme for sixth form students. Its aim is to equip students with the necessary information and decision-making skills to make informed judgements about their future. Topics on career issues are delivered through their social studies programme, as well as Well-being lessons and include a variety of speakers, covering both higher education and alternative options, such as apprenticeships. Students also take part in a variety of visits organised by the sixth form teaching and leadership team, including a University Open Day. Tutors work closely with students to support them with personal statements and progression planning. Year 12 students undertake a two day work shadowing placement.
