Music Curriculum


Aims: The St John’s Music curriculum provides students with a varied musical experience that is accessible for all, but also challenging for those with prior musical knowledge. We aim to provide a lifelong passion for, and interest in, music across a range of genres. Students will be able to develop their knowledge and skills in performing, composing and appraising music.

Private Music Tuition

The music faculty at St John’s is exceptional. In addition to the St John’s Choir, there is a Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Rock Groups and an Orchestra as well as many student led groups. We offer GCSE and A-Level Music qualifications and produce termly music evenings and competitions for the prestigious Savernake and Stedman Music Cups, as well as evening and lunchtime concerts.
