Art Gallery Term 3 2025-2026
Year 7 Frida Kahlo
Year 7 have been researching artist Frida Kahlo and creating their own self-portraits based on her work.
Year 7 Caricature Sculptures
Year 7 have constructed relief caricatures of themselves using a variety of different types of cardboard, learning to use scissors and craft knives and thinking about layering and adding detail to simple designs.
Year 8 Skull Shrines
8p2 have made symbolic pieces based on shrines to dead celebrities. The enjoyed using mixed media to build up details all inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead Festival.
Year 8 Vanitas Clocks
Year 8 have constructed Vanitas Clocks – clocks that symbolise time passing in their lives so far, aging and how they’ve grown. They have used card, photos, added in drawings and colour and all of this making came from intitail designs they did in class.
Year 9 Mask Faces
Year 9 have been constructing expressive mask faces using fully recycled materials including milk bottles, tissue, plastic bags and other bits and pieces. These were all inspired by African artist Romauld Hazoume who uses recycled materials to create faces – check him out, his work is fab!!
Year 10 Food Sculptures
Year 10 have been creating papier mache food sculptures with a circus theme. They have worked really hard on these and enjoyed making them.

Key Stage 3 Art Competition
There were some incredible works of art entered into the Key Stage 3 Art competition at the end of last term. These have been on display in the Atrium.
