Art Gallery Term 5 2025-2026

Year 7

Year 7 have been working on:

  • Oil and pastel landscapes using paint and oil pastels to record local landscape in the style of the Fauvist Artis, Andrew Derain, who explored complementary colours in his work.
  • Experimenting with collage, chalk and charcoal exploring the work of local artists who were inspired by the Wiltshire landscape, such as John Piper and Molly Lemon.

Year 8

Year 8 have been working on:

  • Large scale monoprints of birds inspired by artist Sue Brown. They made collages to print onoto and then many worked drawing and frottage (rubbings) into them.
  • Refining their cutting skills with scissors and making Notan designs (Notan is a Japanese technique that means light and dark).  Our project is animals so they created symmetrical animal designs.

Year 9

During terms 4 and 5, Year 9 have been working on large scale (A2) ice cream mixed media pieces inspired by artist Sarah Graham. They scaled up the drawing and then used paint, oil pastels, pen and biro to add tone and colour. They really enjoyed being creative with the materials and decorating the backgrounds too!

Year 10

A few examples of some early work from their personal project – mixed work like observational drawing, artist research, painting, and computer manipulations.

Year 12

Early snips of their most recent personal project work.
